Longhorn Vaccines and Diagnostics Names Dr. Vijay Singh Chief Scientific Officer

Longhorn Vaccines and Diagnostics announced Vijay Singh, PhD, as the new Chief Scientific Officer of the company’s Life Science Tools division.

Not only does Longhorn specialize in commercial-stage life science tools, but also in the Investigational New Drug (IND) enabling stage.

Singh Brings Experience

Singh’s responsibilities will primarily include driving expansion of Longhorn’s PrimeStore Molecular Transport Media (MTM), a sample collection device. The company says Singh will also work closely with existing and new customers and help drive new product development. He is also expected to be a key resource for Longhorn’s Vaccine and Antibody division.

These assignments build on Singh’s 15-plus years of scientific and operational experience in molecular diagnostics. He held progressive scientific leadership roles at HealthTrackRx, with his most recent post being Vice President of Research and Development.

Singh also authored or co-authored 20 peer-reviewed publications on molecular diagnostics and infectious disease, presenting that research at national conferences.

Interestingly, at HealthTrackRx, Singh’s team used PrimeStore MTM as the single collection device for all samples and pathogens. By doing this, Longhorn says, Singh was able to engineer high-throughput diagnostic frameworks and lead broad-automation systems, accelerating assay development.

Singh has also led high-profile commercial launches centered on polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technology. These include an FDA-authorized COVID-19 PCR platform, and industry’s first commercial Mpox PCR assay.
